FMCSA Reinstates CDL School Pulled Over English Proficiency
FMCSA's Office of Safety Programs told the agency's Adjudications Division it has reinstated Trucktrailerpro CDL School LLC to the Entry-Level Driver Training Provider Registry and asked that the pending case be dismissed as moot and the docket closed.
FMCSA removed the Columbus, Ohio school on an emergency basis on August 31, 2026, saying an audit found 83 driver-trainees it certified as completing training were later cited for English Language Proficiency (ELP) violations during roadside inspections. The agency said that pattern showed a material deficiency and willful disregard of training rules under 49 CFR Part 380.
Trucktrailerpro petitioned FMCSA's Chief Safety Officer for review on September 9. On October 6, the Chief Safety Officer ordered the Office of Safety Programs to respond. FMCSA then reinstated the school on October 15, citing corrective actions it took to fix the deficiencies cited in the removal notice. The Office of Safety Programs says that reinstatement makes the pending petition moot and, if the docket isn't closed, wants 30 extra days to file evidence.
