FMCSA Reinstates Two Mississippi CDL Schools, Closes Review Cases

So whatFleets & drivers: training completed at SaferTraining and SaferELDT again counts toward CDL entry-level driver training requirements; confirm current registry status before relying on past certificates.

FMCSA's Chief Safety Officer dismissed petitions for administrative review filed by SaferTraining LLC and SaferELDT LLC, both Hattiesburg, Mississippi-based entities that share an address. FMCSA had removed both from the Training Provider Registry under a Notice of Emergency Removal citing unspecified material deficiencies. Each company petitioned for review on August 31, 2026, under 49 CFR 380.723(d)-(e).

The Chief Safety Officer ordered the Office of Safety Programs Director to respond; he did so on October 5. On October 15, the Office Director told the agency both companies had taken corrective action and had already been reinstated to the registry as of October 14. Because the petitioners got the relief they sought, the Chief Safety Officer dismissed both proceedings as moot and closed the dockets on October 20.

The orders do not describe the original deficiencies or the corrective steps taken. Both cases moved through the same sequence on nearly identical timelines, and FMCSA has not said whether the two entities are related beyond sharing an address and training-related operations.

What's next

  • Check the Training Provider Registry directly to confirm current listing status for either school.
  • No further action is pending in either docket; both are closed.
