Orlando Freight Broker Pleads Guilty to $1M USPS Fraud
Khayyam Arif Oglu Farajov, 40, pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud and one count of money laundering for defrauding the United States Postal Service, the Justice Department said. Farajov owned Talishco LLC, an Orlando trucking and freight brokerage company that enrolled in USPS's Freight Auction program in May 2022 to haul bulk mail.
According to the plea agreement, Farajov bid on and won hundreds of USPS mail-hauling contracts between June 2022 and January 2023 but routinely failed to send trucks. When USPS staff asked about missing deliveries, he gave false excuses, forcing the agency to reassign loads to other carriers. He then went back into the platform, falsely marked the loads as delivered, and collected payment anyway, netting more than $1 million.
Farajov funneled the money through shell-company bank accounts before moving it into personal brokerage accounts and investing it in the stock market. The government traced and seized those accounts. He has agreed to forfeit them and pay $993,979 in restitution to USPS. The case was investigated by the USPS Office of Inspector General.
