Texas Court Denies FedEx, Allecom Bid to Halt Driver Lawsuit
The Fourth Court of Appeals in San Antonio denied a petition for writ of mandamus filed by Federal Express Corporation, FedEx Corporation and Allecom Logistics Corporation, the court said in a per curiam opinion. The three-justice panel also denied as moot a related motion for temporary relief.
The mandamus proceeding arose out of an underlying lawsuit, Cause No. 2025-CI-25712, pending in the 45th Judicial District Court in Bexar County before Judge Mary Lou Alvarez. That case was brought by James Richter II, individually and as next friend of a minor, against Federal Express Corporation, FedEx Corporation, Allecom Logistics Corporation and an individual, Alejandro Misael Montes Bello.
The appellate opinion is brief. It does not state what trial court ruling the companies sought to overturn, nor does it describe the facts behind the underlying suit. The denial means the trial court case continues without interruption from the court of appeals.
What's next
- The underlying personal injury case continues in the 45th Judicial District Court, Bexar County.
