DOT Sets 2026-2027 Meeting Dates for Trafficking Advisory Panel
The Office of the Secretary of Transportation (OST) set the 2026-2027 meeting calendar for the DOT Advisory Committee on Human Trafficking (ACHT), according to a notice in the Federal Register. The committee will hold six virtual, publicly accessible meetings between November 2026 and July 2027.
The ACHT advises the Secretary of Transportation on countering human trafficking in the transportation sector, including commercial motor vehicles. It was created as a statutory committee under the 2018 Combating Human Trafficking in Commercial Vehicles Act and reestablished under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which directs the Secretary, through the ACHT and in coordination with the Attorney General, to submit a triennial counter-trafficking report. That report covers recommendations, best practices and trafficking violations involving commercial motor vehicles.
Meeting agendas will include administrative business, panels and briefings, and committee deliberations, though the notice says agendas are subject to change. Registration and up-to-date meeting information are posted on DOT's website. Members of the public can submit written comments in advance of any meeting by contacting the committee's Designated Federal Officer no later than seven days before the meeting; approved submissions become part of the official meeting record.
